![]() A professional writer for over thirty years, I am a member of American Society of Journalists and Authors, East-West News Bureau, and North American Travel Journalists Assn. and International Travel Writers Association. In addition to being chief writer, editor, and webmaster for Real Travel Adventures International Magazine, I am travel editor/writer for The Bluffton Breeze, a print magazine serving South Carolina and its visitors. I am also regularly featured on Destination Worldview as a contributing editor and am interviewed frequently on "Talking Travel" broadcast.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Education from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Arts in Journalism from Texas A & M Commerce, and 18 hours graduate studies in Theology and Religious Studies from University of Dallas and Vancouver Schools of Theology.
I was project coordinator, researcher, and script writer for Hawaiian Educational Television's series of nine half-hour documentaries, Children of Portugal and producer/script-writer of the documentary Ageless Arts of Portugal, on Discovery Channel.
As a free-lancer, I have written thousands of features for print newspapers, magazines, and the Internet, TV, and radio.
I am owner and President of Bonita Productions, Inc., specializing in public relations and all types of writing for individuals and organizations. I am also publisher, editor, writer, and webmaster of Real Travel Adventures International Magazine at http://www.realtraveladventures.com. I also review books for our Books and Audio section and for Amazon.com. I am Travel Editor for The Bluffton Breeze print magazine.
My husband and I have three children and five grandchildren. In writing for children I use the pseudonym “Beth Stone.” My book of self-help for pre-school victims of abuse, Do You Have A Secret?, was selected as the top of the list of “The Best” in its field by the National Congress of Psychologists and has been highly recommended by school counselors, psychiatrists, pediatricians, and ministers for its sensitivity and value in dealing with many difficult situations children face, including abuse, divorce, death of loved ones, crime, and drugs.
I am also author of Parentips, a 1986 title from Simon & Schuster's Pocket Books, which gave hundreds of ideas for creative fun with children. For nine years I wrote and syndicated in twenty-five newspapers the weekly feature, “Formulas For Fun,” which gave readers innovative ideas for family fun.
I have also authored seven other self-published books for children: A Baby For Alex; Pamela's Surprise; Baby's Book About Love; Oh The Things My Feet Can Do!; My Back Yard; The Hands-On Book; Jordan's Baby Brother; and two for teens: The Dark Side Of Love; and Finding Family Ties; and three non-fiction titles for adults: Needlepoint and Bargello For Beginners; No Time To Cook Book For Newly-Weds and DINKS ; and Tracing Tidal Tributaries Through Time.
My husband, Bill, who is co-owwner or this Ezine, is a Reading Specialist and professor of English at Paris Junior College. He writes features in addition to being the photographer and historical researcher for many of the features.
I have always loved to write both as a hobby and professionally. My other hobbies include travel, sewing, arts and crafts, music, gardening, spiritual studies, and meeting people, and being with children.
