But this year we wanted to go to the hometown of NASCAR racing in North Carolina, where we spent a delightful weekend in Cabarrus County, just outside of Charlotte, NC, and the location of the Charlotte Motor Speedway, a 1.5 mile oval racetrack with seating for over 100.000 spectators.
