Safari Company, Abrojaley Africa Ajabu Ltd.

This is an introduction of myself, Abdulnuru Meena, and my safari company, Abrojaley Africa Ajabu Ltd. I would like to take this opportunity to make myself known to you in the event you need a reliable contact source within East Africa or the need for safari inquiries.

To let you know about myself: I am a professional tour guide/safari operator for all of East Africa and also send clients elsewhere within the continent. I have been a qualified and certified driver guide since the beginning of 2001, and in the tourism industry for several years. Since 2001, I have worked as a freelance tour driver guide. In 2003, I started my first partnership in a safari company, which has been very successful thus far. My family and I live in Arusha, Tanzania - 45 minutes drive from Kilimanjaro and en route to all the northern national parks. My family originates from Kilimanjaro, but live in Masaai land, a placed known as Monduli.

Abrojaley Africa Ajabu Ltd. accommodates people from all walks of life; from budget camping to luxury tents, to five-star hotel accommodation. We can organise cultural tours, hiking, horse riding, mountain climbs, Zanzibar trips, white-water rafting, domestic flights and many more requests. Our company operates with all our own equipment: Luxury/budget tents, hiking gear and camping equipment. We have purchased brand new Toyota Landcruisers, which have been converted into safari vehicles. We also only use our own safari tour guides who, as well as myself, attend refresher courses within East Africa. All tour guides are qualified and speak fluent English.

Photography Safaris for amateurs, professionals /Roger Moore photographer

Picture Perfect:

A Photographic Safari
by Maniago Safaris
A picture is worth a thousand words. And when you are lucky enough to view the acacia-dotted savannahs and flamingo covered lakes of the Mara of Kenya, being able to document the visual experience is priceless. Maniago Safaris, a leading travel outfitter in East Africa, now offers Photography Safaris for amateurs and professionals alike, headed by renowned photographer and safari guide, Roger Moore. On this safari specially designed for photographers, photo buffs can explore and experience Kenya while developing and refining their photographic skills, and bring home exquisite snapshot mementos of their adventure.
After enjoying a presentation that will prepare you for your experience, the group heads to Samburu via a scenic country inhabited by the Kikuyu tribe and the majestic Mt. Kenya. During the two day stay here filled with game drives, shutter flies can capture stunning photos of giraffes, Grevy’s zebra, long necked gerenuk, Beisa Oryx, and the elusive leopard. Safari-goers are also welcomed into a village of the Samburu tribe for some once in a lifetime portrait opportunities. Throughout, RogerMoore offers his tips, secrets, and guidance to help each member on the trip take their best snapshots.
Following a delicious breakfast at the Samburu Serena Lodge, guests leave in Land Cruisers that are specially fitted for the photographers for the Lake Nakuru National Park in the Great Rift Valley. The photographic opportunities remain endless, with dazzling waterfalls and indigenous tribesmen along the way. Lake Nakuru is truly a sight to see, with often times more than 2 million pink flamingos, well over 400 bird species, and rhinos, zebra, and gazelle. After a day in the wild, tired guests retreat to the Flamingo Hill Tented Camp, where they can enjoy all the modern amenities.
For the next 2 days, Moore leads the group through the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. The drive offers breathtaking vistas of the beauty of Africa, and is a great opportunity to hone landscape photography skills. The Mara also offers the richest wildlife and game viewing in the world, and an opportunity to capture the “Big Five” all in one morning. At night, guests stay at the Mara Serena Safari Lodge, the ultimate safari destination.
The last 3 days of the trip are spent in Sekenani Mara/Siana Concession. Here, guests have an option to enjoy a hot air balloon safari for a different perspective and some gorgeous panorama shots. Then on to the Siana Concession, which is privately owned, allowing travelers to feel like they are alone in their own private Africa. Base camp for this leg of the trip is Leleshwa Camp, which is in the style of the old traditional Hemingway safari. Later, guests can bridge cultures as they visit a Maasai village and build friendships with the local people. That night, guests experience an exhilirating night game drive, where often times they can catch a glimpse of a kill or feeding.
Concluding the trip, the guests’ top seven pictures go into a special "Déjà vu" slideshow on the last night, which allows the group to relive their experience together. When they return home, they will receive an “Adventure book”, which is a coffee table book that contains each person’s photographs. More importantly, they will return home with lifelong memories, new and enhanced camera skills, and photographic mementos of this amazing adventure.
Roger Moore’s Photographic Safaris occur several times per year in conjunction with Maniago Safaris.

Sultans of the Savanna:
Nomad Tarangire Safari Camp

Nomad Tarangire Safari Camp is the epitome of bohemian, exotic luxury: a unique African wildlife adventure with a dash of Bedouin chic. This exclusive, stylish new camp offers some of the richest wildlife viewing opportunities in all of Tanzania. Your experience here will combine pampered laziness and unforgettable adventures, in a remote area intentionally off the beaten-track of typical African safari tourism.
About the camp. The camp’s four billowing Bedouin-style tents are set deep in Tarangire National Park, a 1,000-square-mile ecosystem known for its large concentration of elephants, migratory wildebeest and other grazing animals. From the camp couples or groups of guests can venture out to wildlife viewing areas – either on foot or in a Land Rover – accompanied by a private guide.
The gorgeous tents feature romantic Moorish arches framing an inner chamber furnished with large, sumptuous beds. This section has roll-down canvas sides and shade netting. An outer area, candlelit at night by lanterns, is strewn with large, richly woven kilim rugs, carved Arabic-style tables and chairs, a discreet screened dressing area, and an en-suite bathroom with modern amenities.

The camp also includes a spacious mess and dining tent, its table set with brass lamps from Turkey. You will also be invited to lounge in the library tent ; imagine reading while nestled into the tent’s large, comfortable Oriental throw pillows. If you’re in an especially lazy mood, you can always while away a perfect afternoon in a hammock strung between trees.
When you’re feeling more adventurous, you can arrange to fly camp: taking a daylong walking safari and sleeping out in the open under a mosquito net. This offers an opportunity to see wildlife up close and gives visitors a thrilling experience of hearing the nighttime sounds of the bush under a star-filled African sky.
About the park. The Tarangire National Park park, bisected by the permanently running Tarangire River, includes vast variety of habitats, from open plains to acacia woodlands, winding dry riverbeds and vast swamps. The park is particularly known for the towering baobab trees that thrive here even in the dry season.

Although the northern section of the park can be crowded with tourists, Nomad Tarangire moves among selected campsites in the remote, seldom-visited south end of the park, where during the dry months – June to October – myriad creatures crowd around the waterholes. It isn’t unusual to see lions, leopards, giraffes, Thompson’s gazelles, African buffalo, hippos and hundreds of bird species, along with the huge elephant herds for which the park is famous.
Come stay with us at Nomad Tarangire and enjoy the East African safari of your dreams.

VACATIONERS ASSIST IN WORK PROJECT TO
PROMOTE CONSERVATION IN NAMIBIA
SWAKOPMUND, NAMIBIA (10/06) – The northwestern region of the Namib Desert in Namibia, an area known as Damaraland, is home to approximately 600 desert-adapted elephants and a group of subsistence farmers who compete for the area’s water supply. In an effort to manage a co-existence that benefits both humans and elephants, Abenteuer Afrika Safaris offers a volunteer work project through EHRA (Elephant Human Relations Aid) for a minimum of two weeks with a maximum of three months. Abenteuer Afrika Safaris is the largest destination management company in Namibia, offering tours that showcase the best of Namibia.
The project’s emphasis is on building protective structures around communal water points, creating additional water points for the elephants, assisting with and teaching farmers skills to financially benefit through tourism, researching elephant movements, and compiling identity kits on herds as well as individual elephants. This is real pioneer conservation work in one of the last true wilderness areas on earth. The project is open to all ages and anyone who is relatively fit is capable.
The projects work on a two week rotation, during the first week volunteers will be either building protection walls around a local farmers’ waterpoint or constructing alternative drinking points for the elephants. When on elephant patrol, the group track and then follow the resident herds of elephants and sleep under the stars.
Participants learn the art of cooking over a fire, bush camp setup, safety and hygiene. They learn how to track, how to approach dangerous animals on foot, animal behavior, map reading, and more.
With the escalation of tourism, the value of all wild life in Damaraland is increasing. By helping to alleviate the pressure that the farmers face and promoting the future of the desert elephants so that both humans and animals can live in harmony, volunteers will assist in the continuous positive development of the conservancies and their ideal.
The EHRA project was founded in 2003 by Johannes Haasbroek, a nature conservationist, originally from South Africa, who has been living in Namibia nine years. Having witnessed the return of the desert elephants to the area and the ensuing problems caused by their destruction to farmers’ waterpoints, Johannes set up EHRA and the volunteer project as an initiative to recreate a harmonious relationship between humans and the elephants. Over the past three years much has been achieved with over 35 farms now secured, but there are many other farms facing water crisis daily, due to elephant damage.
Rates for the project are payable for every two week slot at $736.41* USD and participants may sign up for up to six slots. The rate includes food, transportation, and accommodation during the project.
For more information, departure dates and reservations for the EHRA work project, contact Dianne Orban at Abenteuer Afrika Safaris at dorban@abenteuerafrika.com The telephone number is 011-264-404030 and the web site is www.abenteuerafrika.com

The hotel is providing new flat screen plasma screens in their suites, along with updating the look of the suites to a more modern and understated décor. Catharina’s, the Steenberg’s five-star restaurant, has added a framed glass window to give their guests a bird’s eye view of award winning chef Garth Almazan at work.

GOVERNORS’ CAMPS OFFERS TWO HONEYMOONS IN ONE --
A SAFARI ADVENTURE FOLLOWED BY A ROMANTIC INTERLUDE
NAIROBI, KENYA – If you’re dreaming of a honeymoon that combines a lot of adventure with a lot of romance, consider the real, untamed Africa where you can have both in two very different venues.

ELEPHANT-BACK SAFARIS AT CAMP JABULANI IN SOUTH AFRICA
An Exciting New Way to See the Bush at an Ultra-Luxurious Lodge
HOEDSPRUIT, SOUTH AFRICA  – The exclusive Camp Jabulani near Hoedspruit and Kruger National Park offers a new dimension to luxury safari holidays in South Africa. With 13 specially-trained elephants, the lodge is the first in South Africa to offer elephant-back safaris so that guests actually get to interact with wildlife.
The story of Camp Jabulani began when a baby elephant was discovered abandoned by his herd when he became stuck in a silt dam not far from where Camp Jabulani is today located in the 13,000 hectare Big-Five private game reserve. Lente Roode, owner of Camp Jabulani and founder of the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre, rescued him and named him Jabulani which means ‘happiness.” Five years later, Lente rescued 12 elephants from a private reserve in Zimbabwe along with their trainers. Jabulani was quickly adopted by the herd and today all 13 live together in safety and harmony.
In order to meet the high costs of maintaining the elephants, Lente opened Camp Jabulani in 2004 with six ultra-luxurious and spacious suites, each with a private deck, plunge pool, fireplace, well-stocked private bar, air-conditioning and a generous size bath. Each suite has its own private butler to attend to every need or desire a guest may have. The open-air lounge and dining area reflect the very finest African style using rich textures that appeal to contemporary tastes.
Meals at Camp Jabulani are memorable occasions. Lavish champagne breakfasts and traditional bush dinners are served with beautiful china, crystal and silver. Lunch might be a gourmet picnic in the bush or served in the dining room. All dietary requirements are met. The Camp also offers a gym and spa services.
Elephant safaris are unlike those in a vehicle. Guests sit behind the trainer in a comfortable saddle while the elephants quietly negotiate narrow paths in single file and get very close to the other members of the animal kingdom. In addition, Camp Jabulani features morning and evening vehicle game drives, bush walks, birdwatching, clay-pigeon shooting and a visit to the world-renowned Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre which concerns itself with the breeding and maintenance of several endangered wildlife species.
Rates at Camp Jabulani are 930 USD per person sharing per night and are inclusive of all game-viewing, elephant-back safaris, accommodation, meals, liquor, laundry and transfers from the Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport.
