_Emerging Horizons Celebrates 10th Birthday with Accessible Cruise

Ripon, CA --Travel hasn't always been as accessible as it is today. In fact, 12 years ago wheelchair-users and slow walkers had pretty limited travel options. That's when Emerging Horizons editor, Candy Harrington began plans to publish a magazine about accessible travel. A few years later, Emerging Horizons was born. And with the release of the December 2006 winter issue, Emerging Horizons will begin its tenth year of publication.

"I've seen a lot of improvements in accessible travel," says Harrington. "Ten years ago I had to search hard for accessible transportation, lodging, tours and even shore excursions, but today it's a different story. As the Baby Boomers age tourism providers are becoming more sensitive to the needs of disabled travelers, so today there are lot more choices. From accessible safaris and dive resorts to taxi tours and even balloon rides, there's something for just about everyone."

And those aging Baby Boomers have helped bring Harrington's niche into the mainstream. Not only does she write several columns on accessible travel, but she's currently penning her third title on the subject, "101 Accessible Vacations; Vacation Ideas for Wheelers and Slow Walkers". "I've covered a lot of accessible destinations over the last decade and I'm eager to share them with my readers in this new title," says Harrington.

So now it's time to celebrate, and as Candy puts it, "What better place to have the party than on the newest and most accessible cruise ship afloat?" So, Candy and her travel photographer husband, Charles Pannell are inviting their readers to join them on the Emerging Horizons Celebration Cruise next fall. Sailing from Miami on September 29, 2007 on Royal Caribbean's new Liberty of the Seas, this Eastern Caribbean getaway will jointly celebrate Emerging Horizons' 10th birthday and the release of 101 Accessible Vacations.

There will be lots of fun things to do aboard the ship, including an Emerging Horizons birthday party with gifts for everyone. "And of course everyone will come home with a copy of my new book and a one year subscription to Emerging Horizons," adds Candy. The cruise will be planned by an accessible cruise specialist so accessible airport transportation and shore tours will be available. "Everyone will be able to participate," says Harrington. "So if you've ever thought about cruising but were concerned about access, then come and join us because we'll take care of everything."

Candy also reminds folks to plan ahead, "It's important to book early for the best choice of accessible cabins, because they sell out quickly. So as an added bonus I'm giving away a free copy of one of my other books, "Barrier-Free Travel" or "There is Room at the Inn" to folks who book before January 15, 2007.

For more information about the Emerging Horizons Celebration Cruise visit www.EHcruise.com or contact the Connie George Travel Agency at (610) 532-0989. "Come and celebrate with us," urges Candy. "After all, you only turn 10 once."###

Cruise Lines Offering Unbelievable Holiday Vacation Prices

Des Moines, Iowa, Oct. 10, 2006 Look up in the sky on a holiday cruise and
one may see Santa Claus, but he is probably not riding in a sled pulled by
reindeer. To the delight of the guests on Holland America ships, Santa may
be making his grand entrance on Christmas Day via a parasail.

This is just one way a cruise vacation brings smiles during the holiday
season. It is hard to top Santa's arrival but, for those looking for the perfect
gift, most cruise lines are offering significant deals on cruises during late
November through December.

According to CruiseCompete.com, some seven-night cruises can be booked
for well less than $1,000 per person.

"Normally, holiday sailings are sold out at premium pricing but, this year, you
will find tremendous deals during the holidays in cruise vacations," said Bob
Levinstein, president and CEO of CruiseCompete.com, the world's only
competitive cruise pricing Web site.

2006 holiday cruise travel (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's) deals
include, among others:

Princess Cruises/ Star Princess
Seven-night Caribbean cruise, departing Fort Lauderdale
Oceanview cabin deals as low as $432 per person

Royal Caribbean/ Grandeur of the Seas
Seven-night Western Caribbean cruise, departing New Orleans
Oceanview cabin prices from $649 per person

Norwegian Cruise Line/ Norwegian Dream
Seven-night Caribbean cruise, departing Houston
Oceanview cabin deals from just $459 per person

Carnival Cruise Line/ Carnival Destiny
Seven-night Southern Caribbean cruise, departing San Juan
Balcony cabin prices from $829 per person

Other unique features on holiday cruises include Disney Cruise Line's three-
story tree lighting ceremony where "magic" snow falls, creating a winter
wonderland scene at sea; intricate gingerbread houses and other holiday
displays created by the master chefs of the Seabourn Cruise Line; and
Crystal Cruise's $100,000 of seasonal décor for each ship and the annual
performance of A Christmas Carol by the Crystal Repertory Theatre.

"The cruise lines go out of their way to bring holiday traditions to sea," said
Steven Gelfuso, president of CruiseBrothers.com, a CruiseCompete.com
member-agency and one of the largest family-owned cruise travel agencies in
the country. "Our customers really enjoy the special festivities planned
during the year-end holidays, plus experience all of the amenities of a cruise
vacation it's the best of both worlds."

Cruise pricing changes constantly depending on supply and demand. For the

Seven Top Reasons to Take a Holiday Cruise

Less Stress The hustle and bustle of the holidays, accompanied by plenty
of stress, can bring out the worst in everyone. Rather than worrying about
family visits, feeding everyone and keeping crowds entertained, persons
taking a cruise vacation during the holidays can simply relax and let the
cruise line take care of it all.

Unique Gifts Just how many toys does a child need, not to mention jewelry
for mom or sweaters for dad? If someone is looking for truly memorable gifts
for loved ones over the holidays, a cruise vacation is a nice break from the
norm. Plus, the gift giver usually gets to go along on the trip.

Family Memories When does a teenager actually want to go on vacation
with his or her family? Usually when a cruise vacation is planned. There are
plenty of activities to do as a family or group on a cruise, as well as plenty of
opportunities for children and teens to spend time on their own or with their
peers. Family moments are captured in special memory books, offered by
many of the cruise lines.

Value An all-inclusive cruise vacation, featuring accommodations, food and
most entertainment, can save families hundreds, sometimes thousands, of
dollars versus many land-based resorts and getaways over the holidays. A
number of seven night voyages on many popular cruise lines can be booked
now through early January for well less than $1,000 per person.

Kids Entertainment Children and teens have little time to sit around on a
cruise ship and complain about being bored. Spending the holiday break on a
cruise means swimming, rock climbing, beach combing, water sports, games,
music, exploring, dancing and more fun for kids of all ages. Age-appropriate,
supervised children's programs keep them busy. On-board teen clubs on
many ships give older kids a break from their parents and vice versa.

Tropical Weather With no snow on the ground and plenty of blue sky
above, a sun-soaked Christmas or New Year's holiday on a Caribbean or
Mexican cruise is unlike any other. Parkas and snow boots can stay packed a
little longer, but be sure to pack the shorts, bathing suits and sunscreen.

Picturesque Ports White snow is replaced with secluded, white sand
beaches at many Caribbean ports of call and the cruise lines' private islands.
In addition, various ports throughout the region celebrate the holidays in
grand style, providing cruise guests with different holiday scenery to
remember.

Press Release: Yoga, sailing, massages and a Love Potion
If the only thing you agree on when booking a holiday is that romance should be involved, Wildwind Holidays (www.wildwind.co.uk) has the answer to all your problems – a “He said, She Said” holiday…with a herbal Love Potion thrown in!
Ideal for couples with completely differing holiday agendas, Wildwind is not only the UK's leading independent sailing specialist to Greece, but also offers breaks that will rejuvenate even the most jaded souls – in the form of its 'Healthy Options' holiday programme (www.healthy-option.co.uk).
Comments Simon Morgan, Managing Director of Wildwind Holidays: “Being a fanatical sailor myself I know what a nightmare organising a holiday for two can sometimes be. So we thought that the best way to make the process as simple as possible would be to offer both programmes at the same price, once the kids have gone back to school. That way, while he is off pretending to be Lord Nelson, you can spend your days being pampered and relaxing amidst landscaped gardens, just yards from the beach.”
With a reputation as one of the best equipped and professionally run sailing and windsurfing companies in the Mediterranean, Wildwind offers all of the RYA’s dinghy and catamaran courses (from beginner to advanced). All sailing courses are comprehensively taught and thoroughly looked after by a dedicated member of staff in both the morning and afternoon sessions.
The 'Healthy Options' programme consists of a week long exercise itinerary designed around an irresistible blend of exercise, pampering and fresh air; with daily yoga classes, nutrition and vitality advice, herbal walks, aqua safaris, cycling tours and therapeutic massage.
Continues Morgan: “At sunset Vassiliki Bay is such a romantic place, so the Love Potion came about as a bit of fun. Designed by one of the phytotherapists (the use of plants and plant products for their healthy properties) on the Healthy Options programme, the drink contains a number of natural ingredients that have been used as aphrodisiacs for centuries. And it really works – after a hard day sailing some of us need all the help we can get!”
Based in the grounds of a small family run, beachfront hotel just outside Vassiliki Bay, a seven night stay throughout September costs from just £399 pp. Prices are based on two adults sharing and include return flights from Gatwick to Prevesa, overseas transfers, accommodation with en-suite facilities (room only) and your selected sailing course or Healthy Options package.

AMERICAN CRUISE LINES TRACE A PIRATE LEGACY

Guilford, CT - This fall, American Cruise Lines will be venturing the treasure trails in its new themed cruise Pirates, Pearls and Patriots of the South. Aboard one of their brand new modern cruise ships, American Cruise Lines will sail the same waters that famous pirates such as Blackbeard and Luis Aury once plied.

Before the glory days of the Antebellum South, outlaws of the sea were controlling the many ports and waterways of our young country. The start of this journey begins in the beautiful harbor of Charleston, South Carolina. In March of 1718, Blackbeard, the most infamous pirate of his time, blockaded the entire harbor and held several nobles for ransom. After his demands were met Blackbeard sought cover in the region of Beaufort, South Carolina, the second stop on our cruise. It was here that his flagship, the Queen Anne's Revenge, ran aground on a sandbar and he stranded several of his own men on the sinking ship.

Daufuskie Island will be your next port of call. This island was once the home to famous pirate hunter, David "Money" Mongin, a French Huguenot. English king, George III, granted the island to him for his excellent pirate tracking and capturing skills. Along with neighboring Hilton Head Island, these islands were the supposed burial grounds for the treasure of several pirates including Captain Charles Vane.

Savannah, the next featured port of visit, is home to many of the greatest pirate legends of all time. This gracious southern city is mentioned several times in the novel, Treasure Island, and it was on a nearby isle that a chest full of the finest riches was reputedly buried. Savannah is also home to the world famous Pirate's House for some of the finest food and pirate lore available.

Passengers will then follow the trails of these infamous rogues to the stunning St. Simons Island. Pirates of the late 17th century often ransacked many villages on the island settled by the Guale, a group of Native Americans. As a result the Guale left the island never to return.

As the cruise moves further south, Blackbeard's legend resurfaces as we reach the unspoiled natural beauty of Jekyll Island. It is said that the pirate stashed one of his greatest treasures here leaving a copper hook embedded in an oak tree pointing to its location.

As this exploration of some of the south's most legendary pirate lore comes to a close we stop at the pristine Amelia Island. One of Amelia Island's most famous pirates was Luis Aury. Aury arrived in 1817 claiming to be a Mexican officer and annexed the island in the name of his supposed country. He was made to surrender to Americans three months later, but his ghost is said to still haunt the jail on Third Street. Today this building is the Amelia Island Museum of History.

While retracing the career of Blackbeard and other pirates, passengers will enjoy skillfully planned shore excursions to the charming harbors and villages that these swashbucklers of the sea once occupied. Naturalists, historians, and even local jewelers will be invited onboard to reveal a treasure chest full of historical knowledge full of American heritage.

Passengers will enjoy smooth travel through some of America's most beautiful waterways and make new friends as they explore the riches of each port. At the end of the day complimentary cocktails are served in one of the many Lounges aboard the ship, a great time and place to share adventures with other fellow travelers. From the moment passengers step on board they will truly know what camaraderie on the high seas was all about.

Call 1-800-814-6880 today for more information on the Pirates, Pearls, and Patriots cruise, or to receive a free brochure highlighting all eight of American Cruise Lines' fascinating itineraries

CRUISE TRAVELERS WITHOUT PASSPORTS WILL SOON BE LEFT ON LAND

CruiseCompete.com urges travelers to apply now to avoid rush for passports,
required for cruises returning on January 1, 2007 or after

DES MOINES, Iowa, Travelers without a passport must pass
on any cruises outside of the United States starting in late December, no
matter what kind of great deals they land on their next vacation, according
to Bob Levinstein, CEO of CruiseCompete.com, the world's only competitive
cruise pricing Web site.

After a year-long delay, passports will be required for all air and sea travel
outside of the United States for persons returning home after Jan. 1, 2007.
This includes travel to Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the
Caribbean, Bermuda and other cruise ship destinations.

The Cruise Lines International Association estimates only 35 percent of
cruisers used passports as identification on cruises during the past year.
With more than 10 million Americans enjoying cruise vacations each year, this
means a lot of people still need to secure proper identification for next year's
cruises.

"Under normal conditions, it takes about six weeks to obtain a passport, but
who knows how long it will take if the demand surges later this year when
people realize they need one," Levinstein said. "Our travel agent-members
booking trips for late December and next year are imploring their clients to
obtain their passports now. Wait too long and they could be left on shore."

Passports cost about $100 a piece. Wait until the last minute and it costs an
extra $60 per passport to expedite the process, which still takes up to two
weeks. One must apply for a passport in-person at the Post office or county
courthouse. Passport forms also can be downloaded through the U.S. State
Department's website, www.travel.state.gov/passport.

Levinstein said that the upside of this situation is that there should be a glut
of cruise inventory for later this year and next, especially for short cruises.

"It will be more difficult for people without passports to book cruises less than
two months out," Levinstein said. "We think this is going to result in a lot of
cruise lines drastically reducing their prices to help fill their ships. It's a great
benefit for those cruisers who already have their passports in-hand."

CruiseCompete.com saves consumers time by finding the agent with the best
deal for them. Consumers secure quotes for cruise deals from multiple travel
agencies without having to contact each one separately. To date, more
than 275,000 customers have accessed CruiseCompete.com to request cruise
quotes from more than 200 member travel agencies around the country.
Agents have provided more than one million quotes to consumers.
