Flag of Texas

By Bonnie Neely

In the little town of Paris, Texas, you will find a new diner worth the drive from anywhere!  Pop's Place is a true 50's experience with Marilyn Monroe and Elvis smiling at you from all four walls. Owned and operated by Kathy and Mike Grigsby, this is a great little hidden place to find. Just a couple of minutes off Hwy 271 North, Exit Loop 286 West at Highway 79. Go north about a block and it is on the west side in a metal building, a small sign, and probably lots of cars because in just a few weeks of being open, this place is being discovered and talked about!!  Chef Mike is a two year veteran of the Culinary Arts Program at  El Centro in Dallas, TX, and your tastebuds will know it!  He makes the absolutely best hamburgers you have ever tasted ANYWHERE!  And the variety of choices you have fills an entire page. Their French fries are the real thing, like you remember from childhood, and they make from scratch the old fashioned drugstore milkshakes, malts, and sundaes!  They also serve salads and a few other lighter selections.  They are open from 10 AM to 9 PM Monday through Saturday.
